Striking home built at Moorina – Great feedback from clients

July 25, 2018
Peter Jones Constructions

It’s always lovely to hear such great feedback about our work and my team.  Thank you again Michelle and Jay.

”  Peter and his team started building our new home on 30th January 2017. I have had a few properties built before by other builders and by far Peter’s has been the easiest and least stressful build for me that I have experienced.

We had a tight time frame on the build and needed to have it finished in 5 months before we flew overseas. The keys were handed over a week early and we are ecstatic with our new home.

Peter and his team of tradesman have done an exceptional job building our home with the finish of the house being just beautiful. Peter gave us and our house individual attention.

When I was struggling to choose the product for the exterior of the house, Peter organised for us to meet with him at a house he had previously built. We had a look at the house and talked with the owners, which made my decision so much easier.

When I decided I wanted to re-arrange and change the sizes of some of the windows during the build (after the frame was already up and the windows had been ordered). Peter took it in his stride, re organised things and rescheduled other jobs to work around my changes. The new windows are huge and give a beautiful view of the creek. I am so grateful that Peter worked with us to make these changes happen.

He did not charge us a fee every-time we made a change (and there were a few) and was transparent on the cost of variations.

Peter has been approachable, available, friendly, flexible and patient from our first contact with him for a quote, during the build and after handover.

Jay and I would like to thank Peter and his team for building our beautiful home. We both recommend Peter Jones Constructions to anyone who is looking to have a quality house built at an affordable price.

Making the most of a steep block at Cashmere – see this incredible home being built

May 16, 2018
Peter Jones Constructions

We are always up to a challenge, so when the clients brought their sketch plan to me to quote, I thought what a great home this will be, but gee there will be lots of work to get this home to its full potential.

But I’m definitely up for it!!

During the design processes, to minimize site cut, the home has been designed to have 5 different levels to work with the slope of the land. The advantages are that all the bedrooms and living area are on the same level, leading onto a massive alfresco overlooking a nature reserve.

We started with this slope…..

and ended up with this amazing home……

Follow the numbers to follow the construction progress:

1 – Site cut is underway.

2 – With the steep site – there were a few retaining walls that needed to be built before we could proceed. These are up now and looking great.
A couple of massive weeks ahead getting to floor stage.

3 – Plumbers are getting the underslab drainage in ready for foundations.

4 – Massive day getting the footings and steel columns in – ready for the raised floor.

5 – The garage here has an intergrated retaining wall that needs blocks laid before we can pour the slab. As the garage will be 1 metre higher than the living area.

6 – Slab has been prepared – ready to pour.

7 – Carpenters have got a massive job ahead of them now, as there was over 20 tonnes of timber delivered (not including the roof trusses). Will be a wonderfully big home when it is completed!

8 – Carpenters have got the frame going along great.
It has been a massive job but with eight carpenters on site, all working well together, we have got through it quite fast.

9 – Job went from a massive pile of trusses on the ground to all being stood by lunch time. Well done team!

10 – It really give the home some shape with the skillion roofs at the front, going to a standard hip roof at the rear.

Ready for roof measure – can’t wait til the roof is on!

11 – Scaffolding going up ready for roofers – but what wonderful weather we are having for roofing a house?! Pretty sure the roof will be next week now.

12 – Frame is complete – roof is on – windows and sarking are installed. This is where we got to before Xmas.

13 – First job back after xmas and started installing cladding. There are some colourbond feature panels yet to be installed.

14 – Plasterers are working away – there is a lot of work to be completed in a home this size.

15 – The living areas and hall in this home have 140mm x 19mm Spotted Gum Tongue and Grove flooring – this is laid over the top of the particle board floor. It will get sanded and polished at the completion of the job and will look absolutely awesome.

16 – Flooring has been laid – looks awesome – the polish gets done after all the trades are finished.

17 – Guys from Aspen Cabinets are installing the cabinetry – the kitchen looks out a massive bi-fold door straight onto the deck.

18 – Tilers are working away – doing another great job.
The tile clips being used for the porcelain rectified edge tiles bring them to a perfectly flat surface on top – creating an awesome job.

19 – Outside is coming up a treat – will look amazing once the scaffolding comes down.
Decking to be laid is next on the list of jobs to be completed. Can’t wait to see that!

20 – Tiling is now complete – all the wet areas are tiled to the ceiling with large porcelain tiles. The kitchen splash back tiles are massive being 1.2m x .6m – these are the largest tiles we have laid to date.

21 – Timber stairs are now in – the home is now ready to be painted inside. Will follow soon with some inside pictures.

22 – I love this house – what a deck to be entertaining on.

23 – Picture of each end of the house – this gives an idea of the slope of the block.

24 – Home is now completed – looks amazing. Well done to all the team. Some photos of outside. Deck is fantastic!

25 – Amazing home finished – some photos of completed inside.

WELL DONE TEAM!

Beautiful Golden Beach Home For Return Clients Completed

November 30, 2017
Peter Jones Constructions

It was great to build for these wonderful clients again. This was the second home I have built for them.

This being low set and a bit smaller than their last home.

Their new home has a massive family / dining / kitchen area,

with the alfresco overlooking the pool.

It has three bedrooms with a study and an enormous ensuite with spa.

All within easy walking distance to Pumicestone Passage and Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.

This is a beautiful home – see it being built ………..

1 – Below is the original block and then the site being prepared for the slab.

2 – Being a narrow block, the pool had to be built before the slab was poured. So the pool builders worked on the shell before the house was even started.  With the ground being so sandy and having a high water table, the pool builders had a great deal of trouble.

3 – This job progressed swiftly so here are just a selection of photos showing you the progress.

4 – This home is continuing to progress quickly, so following are a few more photos showing the progress.

5 – As you can see the house is looking great – clients couldn’t wait to move in and we were not that far from being finished – it’s going to be a beautiful house when it’s completed.
Tilers starting soon.

6 – House is nearing completion – concretors are getting the drive way ready.

7 – This appealing home is really near completion. Here are a few photos showing how fabulous it is looking inside.

8 – So near completion – a few of the outside photos.

9 – Here it is completed – wow it looks great and the clients are so happy to be spending Christmas here – creating more memories in their new home.  Enjoy!

The clients were over the moon.

From the vacant land to the finished home – watch the home being created………..

2 – Under slab drainage has been completed and the concretors are starting on the footings.

3 – Concretors are preparing the slab – the job dried out really well since the massive rain last week.

4 – Finally got a great dry day to pour the slab.

5 – Slab completed ready for timber delivery and carpenters.

6 – Frame is up ready for fascia and gutter and roof.

7 – Roof is going on – house is really starting to take shape.

8 – Brick work is going up – starting to look like a house.

Designer home – hop, skip and a jump from the Bribie passage – Summary of construction work

September 6, 2017
Peter Jones Constructions

This amazing family home at Toorbul was built raised off the ground.  This was done to meet the required flood levels and make the most of the Bribie Island passage views from the flyscreen enclosed front deck.

It will be an entertainer’s delight.

Clients are so happy!

Following shows the step by step account of the building process from this

and then this

 to this

Follow the numbers to follow the construction progress………..

1 – This almost seaside block was reasonably flat so we imported a small amount of soil to give us a level building platform.

2 – Set out for the steel columns completed – the blue crosses will be the position for the steel posts.

3 – With this site being a house block and no sewerage available, we have had to install a household sewage treatment plant and an absorption pit for the wastewater.

We will have no rear access for machines and trucks as the house takes up a large section of the block, so the above items have had to be completed before starting the house itself.

4 – Massive day today – putting the steel columns in to support the house. Below the steel columns are screw piers through the water table into the firm foundation below.

5 – Once the screw piers were installed in the holes we concreted the steel columns in. All the columns had to be in the correct position and to the correct height, which is a massive job as there were 65 columns!! But thankfully they are all in place now – all the guys did a great job, as we felt it was the hottest day we have had this year.

Great to get the job to this point before Christmas, and we have a frame to start when we come back in the new year.

6 – Carpenters have built the floor frame and layed the floor. The crane is there lifting the timber up ready for the carpenters to build the wall frames.

7 – Carpenters are working on the framing at the moment but the heat (37 degrees +) is making it hard for them to work as efficiently as they normally do. They are having a lot more drink stops than usual!

8 – Framing is complete – starting to look very much like a house.

9 – Scaffold has been erected and fascia and gutter and roofing is now being installed.

10 – Plumbing and Electrical rough ins have been completed and insulation installed. Now ready for the plasterers to start.

11 – Windows and sarking are now completed – ready for external cladding.

12 – Carpenters are working really hard cladding the exterior with Hardies Primeline Heritage planking.

13 – Kitchen is being installed – will look awesome when completed.

14 – More cabinetry has been installed ready for tiling.

15 – Stormwater being connected to the street.

16 – Cladding is now completed – ready for the Colorbond feature panel to be installed on the front gable.

17 – Kitchen is really taking shape – ceasar stone benchtops have been installed – just waiting for the coloured glass splashback.

18 – Tiling is well underway – will look even better once it has been grouted.

19 – What a great view looking out over the deck from the family room. From the front of the deck there are water views.

20 – Being so close to the passage the bugs can sometimes carry you away at dusk so the patio has been fully enclosed with fly-screening. This will mean no mozzie bites while relaxing on the deck.

21 – Caravan / carport slab is being poured – so job is getting very close to completion.

22 – The house has been all completed now – looks amazing and the clients are really impressed with the quality of work and how liveable their new house is.

I popped by to get a few photos now that the house is furnished and landscaped – impressive hey!!
